From Humble Beginnings to a Leading Apparel Brand
Founded in 1972 by Allen Katzen, Soft As A Grape began as a small wine-making supply shop in Harvard Square, MA. Inspired by a playful nickname from friends, Allen embraced the name “Soft As A Grape” and shifted his focus to t-shirts, gifts, and home décor. By 1976, he opened the first Soft As A Grape retail clothing store in Falmouth, MA. With investments in screen printing, embroidery, and digital printing equipment, Soft As A Grape became known for high-quality custom apparel and unique vacation-themed clothing.

Expanding Across the East Coast & Beyond
Today, Soft As A Grape operates 14 retail stores in Cape Cod, Plymouth, Martha’s Vineyard, Newport RI, Pt. Judith RI, and Celebration, Florida. We also hold Major League and Minor League Baseball licenses and maintain a strong national wholesale presence, offering our clothing and apparel products across the country.
